Automation Devices, Inc (ADI), a vibratory feeder and part system components manufacturer, is making a company-wide technology upgrade along with some major housekeeping items at their manufacturing facility, including property painting and maintenance.  On the technology side, the company will purchase new desktop computers and monitors for all office employees, a new system server, and an advanced operating system with upgraded software. ADI’s last technology upgrade was made in 2013.

ADI President Kevin Smith made the decision that it was time to update the systems currently in place.  “We have to stay relevant in regards to technology and need to stay up-to-date to meet the demands of our customers,” says Smith.

In addition to 15 desktop computers with Windows 10 operating systems with engineering-size monitors, ADI is also investing in the latest versions of SolidWorks and machining post processors.  “It’s imperative that we stay ahead of the curve,” explains Smith.  “In order to continue to be recognized as leaders in our industry it is essential that we have the proper channels in place.  That is what keeps us in the forefront against our competitors.”

On the maintenance end of things, ADI has gone full steam ahead with a spring painting project.  This building revamp has taken over 290 gallons of paint and has gone from the 40,000 square foot shop – including walls and ceiling, to all machinery and work stations.   “Our building definitely has a fresh, vibrant look,” says Smith.  “Our production facility needs to exemplify the pride and quality we have in our work, especially when we have customers and visitors tour our plant.”

On a related note, ADI’s Swan-Matic division will be launching a new website offering online purchasing for the first time in company history.  “We’ve got a lot going on,” says Smith.  “It’s all good stuff.  It keeps us moving with our best foot forward.”
