Automation Devices, Inc. (ADI), a vibratory feeder and parts feeding system components manufacturer, is doing their part to support green efforts by participating in an Emergency Load Response Program with local electric companies.

In this voluntary program,ADI agrees to reduce electric consumption when the reliability of the electric grid is in jeopardy and brownouts are possible. ADI would simply be notified when the electric provider plans to shut the electricity off. “ADI would receive ample notice if an outage was to occur,” explains ADI President Kevin Smith. “We would convert over to a natural gas generator that is on the premises.”

Participation in this program will not have any adverse effects on business operations. “At one time our entire plant ran off of natural gas wells, so to be running off of a generator for a few hours really is not an inconvenience,” explains Smith. “This will not have any impact on our production process and outages often occur outside of normal business hours,” adds Smith.
The Emergency Load Response Program is a great way to conserve energy. “This is a simple process that benefits everyone,” says Smith.
