July Producer Price Index released
The Producer Price Index for Finished Goods advanced 1.0 percent in
July, seasonally adjusted, the Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S.
Department of Labor reported today. This increase followed no change in
June and a 0.6-percent decline in May. -
July Consumer Price Index released
The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U) increased
0.5 percent in July, before seasonal adjustment, the Bureau of Labor
Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor reported today. The July level
of 195.4 (1982-84=100) was 3.2 percent higher than in July 2004. -
Preliminary Productivity and Costs from the BLS
The Bureau of Labor Statistics of the U.S. Department of Labor
reported preliminary productivity data--as measured by output per hour of
all persons--for the second quarter of 2005. The preliminary seasonally
adjusted annual rates of productivity change in the second quarter were:1.2 percent in the business sector and
2.2 percent in the nonfarm business sector.
