Automation Devices, Inc. Invests in Technology Upgrade 2013
Automation Devices, Inc (ADI), a vibratory feeder and part system components manufacturer, made a recent company-wide technology upgrade. This included new desktop computers for all office employees, a system server, an advanced operating system and upgraded software. This is ADI’s first major upgrade since 2005.
ADI President Kevin Smith made the decision that it was time to update the current systems in place. “We were starting to run into software compatibility issues, adequate memory on our server and our previous computers were slowing down,” says Smith. “It was necessary to make the investment.”
In addition to 15 Dell desktop computers with Windows 7 operating systems, ADI also invested in updated versions of SolidWorks and AutoCAD. “We have to stay current with what our customers are using in terms of design software. It’s what keeps us in business,” explains Smith. Coincidentally, ADI’s computer upgrade coincided with the launch of their new website, autodev.com, another area where ADI is keeping up with changing technology. In addition, a new electronic time clock and software were upgraded at this time. Smith is very pleased with the transition. “Our technology providers did an excellent job in delivering a smooth transition for our team, making the conversion transparent for our customers. The ultimate goal is to serve our customers to the best of our ability. These updates help us do that.”
