ADI Expands to Include In-House Poly Armor Lining
Erie, Pa. – Automation Devices, Inc., (ADI) a vibratory feeder company, now has powder coating lining abilities at their Fairview, Pa manufacturing facility. By moving a process in-house that was previously outsourced, cuts costs and provides ADI customers with shorter lead times. Powder coating poly armor in vibratory feeding equipment is a reliable coating method that not only protects the bowl from abrasion of parts being fed, but is known to improve feed rates.
ADI Project Engineer Dallas Holmes spearheaded this project and is pleased with the results. “This is a smart move for us,” explains Holmes. “When subcontracted out, the production process is temporarily out of our hands and we lose control of the timeline which often results in longer lead times and added expenses. Now, most jobs that require a poly lining can be handled in our oven, so by eliminating the middle man we’re also eliminating unnecessary wait times.”
The poly armor lining replaces ADI’s previous polyurethane lining. “It was the right time to make the switch,” explains Holmes. “We provide ADI customers with the most efficient, high quality vibratory equipment possible. That is what our customers are used to and what they have come to expect,” says Holmes.
“Poly armor linings are consistent with our high caliber standards. This type of coating provides a better adhesion to the surface being coated and offers practically no curing time – a win-win. Anytime we can improve processes and create a better experience and product for our customers, we’re going to do it.”
